THE DAY OUR LIVES CHANGED

Tuesday, June 5, 2012: It was my day off so I was out running errands and found myself in where else than CVS! I was picking up who knows what but probably shampoo or vitamins or maybe even a bottle of wine. I then found myself feeling nauseated and I knew that something wasn't right. Since we had been trying to conceive I just "knew" I was pregnant. I am very in-tune with my body and had been having other symptoms of pregnancy (I'll spare you the details) so I just had a really great feeling about it! 

I went home and knew that the Dr. had told me to wait till Sunday to take a pregnancy test so I figured I could just wait till then.  I didn't really think much about it the rest of the night but then the morning came. I just couldn't wait. These symptoms were not going away and I was too anxious. Low and behold....a positive test.
♥ I AM PREGNANT!♥ 
I remember picking up Maddie (our dog) and squeezing her and asked her if she was ready to be a big sister!
(Yes she is our first child)
I then text Jake because I was too excited to wait to tell him in a special way. And if you know me, you know I was SOOOO EXCITED! He called me right away and we shared in our joy. I then called and set up our first prenatal visit. The first moment we would hear this lil babe's heart beat!! 
Ahhh the thought was too much to handle. 
We were really going to be parents!! 

** For some that don't know: We struggled to get pregnant. We tried for 8 months and went through several tests to make sure we were physically okay to conceive. Everything checked out. There was one problem that we discovered. I was not ovulating every month. So with the advice of my WONDERFUL OB Dr. Watters we tried a round of Clomid.
 {A fertilitry drug that makes your body release an egg [ovulation]} Low and behold.....
IT WORKED!! ♥

This was our lil peanut at 8 weeks! Her heart rate was 174 bpm and she looked healthy! It was fun to have the ultra sound done and to hear her lil heart beat for the first time was magical. We were in awww of the creation God had given to us. ♥  
Next we needed to figure out a way to tell our parents.....So we decided to create a family tree with both sides of parents and grandparents.

We then announced it on Facebook and allowed everyone else to share in our joy. We were overwhelmed with comments and our family and friends were so happy that we finally, after 5 years of marriage were going to add to our lil family!  

I will take you in the next post throughout my pregnancy and eventually will post about our birth story. One that will be raw and I intend to share it all, from start to finish.
